ILCAVic Performance Sailcraft ILCA4 Program: Fun, Friends & Fast Learning at Albert Park Lake

 🗓️ Sundays during Terms 2 & 3
 🕒      10am - 12:30 Adult and Youth learn to sail with your own boat or supplied boats (ILCAVic and Performance Sailcra`ft will have 8 ILCA 4’s available for charter)

            12:30 - 4pm Youth sailing – transition sailors (under 30 hours in an ILCA) and new to the ILCA 4 (under 100 hours). Advanced ILCA 4 sailors look out for our AYCE program.

What’s it all about?

Learn, get up and go in the ILCA4 and fang about the lake with friends and fellow sailors—all while learning the essentials for a lifetime of great sailing.

This program is all about building confidence, having fun, and developing smart sailing instincts. You’ll:

🌬️ Learn to see the wind in the trees, flags, and on the water
⚓ Discover how to really make an ILCA GO! And place your boat in pressure on the lifted tack
🎯 Sharpen your feel for shifts and flow
🎮 Learn through games, challenges, and group sailing missions

Who’s it for?

There are three elements to this program

1)     Adult and Youth sailors keen to learn how to sail a dinghy with sessions on Sunday mornings at 10am until 12.30pm with a focus on rigging the boat, feeling comfortable in the boat, steering, reading the wind, sail setting (powering and depowering the rig)

2)     Is designed for transitioning sailors moving into the ILCA4 with less than 30 hours in an ILCA4 and

3)     those new to the ILCA4 with less than 100 hours in an ILCA.

Albert Park Lake offers a perfect venue for learning and developing sailors—enclosed waters, visible wind cues, easy logistics, and a vibrant, welcoming sailing community. It’s the ideal place to learn to sail, build boat handling, racing smarts, and that addictive ILCA energy!

You will be surrounded by friends and expert guidance. You’ll be part of a festival of learning alongside other sailors on Albert Park Lake, including our friends at VIODA and other local fleets.

Whether you’re aiming to learn to sail, race or just want to fang it around and gain confidence, this is your Sunday sailing home.

• Boats on trolleys in the rigging zone by 10am or 12:30
